Corning Wines a big hit

December 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Corning Winery Tasting RonLast night, we welcomed our first guest speakers to The Beer Education Project’s series of tastings.

With Corning Winery and Vineyard but hiking distance away, and since there’s no sense in listening to Robin (me) talk when you can have Batman (Ron and Barb Corey) stop by, it made sense to have the CW&V’s owners lead us through the tasting.

They brought along 6 wines: Catawba, Lake Icaria Mist (Niagra), Edelweiss, Sis’ Blush, Rhubarb Strawberry and St. Vincent. All were well-received by our crowd.

Three are ready for sale, and we’ll be bringing a selection in at the Burrito within the next few days. Other wines on the list await label printing. A couple in the CW&V lineup are still fermenting away.

Corning Winery Tasting Crowd

Our crowd maxed out at 20, which will hopefully serve as an incentive for folks to pre-register for future tastings. Details on our January tasting will be revealed in a few days, but we’ve isolated January 13 as the day. At this point, our February tasting will be styled thematically with Valentine’s Day, and we may be doing food and beer pairings. If that’s the case, pre-registration will be seriously mandatory, for planning and prep purposes on our end. Plan ahead and plan on us, so you don’t miss another great event like so many enjoyed at Electric Burrito last night.

Thanks to all who made it out, and especially to Ron and Barb!
